The CBC program, IDEAS, often probes real life issues with significant insight. Recently, it focused on the US military-industrial complex.
Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, a long-standing military man and Republican, critiques America’s phenomenal commitment to external security while alerting his countrymen to phenomenal threats from within.
This is far from a political rant, and it’s not a perspective from the polarities.
Wilkerson pieces together a disturbing history of America’s fascination with military power, starting with deep concerns once voiced by President Eisenhower. He speaks from a significant military career and advisor to top levels of US government.
Given the cacophony of opinions and propaganda of our current times, this is a penetrating analysis that should prompt deep reflection by Christians and all of us.
