Bio
Ron was a school teacher and administrator for 10 years in SK, MB, and Ghana, W Africa before joining the U of Regina Education Faculty (1974) for a 25-year career in the areas of Mathematics Education and Professional Studies. More...
Ron has been active in a variety of Christian ministries over some decades including outreach to international students. He gave leadership for many years to a church-based English Class program plus a personal housing venture adjacent to the U of R for visiting international scholars. Overseas, Ron served for a time with the English Language Institute/China (ELIC) and as a visiting professor at Sichuan Normal University, Chengdu. He has been in China more than a dozen times, often exploring sites of East/West historical (and Christian missionary) interest. Many of these sites in China are featured in his website: www.CanadianDragonfly.net.
Starting with a Foreign Affairs (CIDA) appointment in Ghana (late 60s), Ron has been active in relief and development work, often connected with Christian missions. He has served on boards of SIM Canada, the Saskatchewan Council for International Cooperation, and the Canadian council, too. Locally, Ron has been active on local and regional church-related boards and committees. He helped found the Regina Christian School.
In retirement, Ron and Roberta have been deeply committed to the needs and issues of inner-city life and people suffering from poverty and related health and social conditions. Ron is trained as an advocate for individuals having support issues with local social services. He has been fundraiser for Morning Star Ministries in North Central and is currently supportive (with family members) of Gentle Road Church of Christ. He is currently also active with the Regina Anti-Poverty Ministry and the End Poverty Regina Network where he has been able to address issues directly with the Minister of Social Services.

With blessings of good health, and now a lengthy life, Ron attempts to continue serving family, God, and Others.
